Making and creating has always been an important part of my life, giving me peace, space and a way to soothe my mind.
Pottery became my creative focus while studying for my degree in Contemporary Applied Arts, in Carlisle. After graduating the usual Whatβs Next? Conundrum flooded my mind. This path took me down to London creating a career as a Merchandiser working with exclusive brands in locations such as Harvey Nichols, Harrods and Royal Academy of Arts.
After ten years in the city the call of a quiet life and some space called, so I upped sticks to North Wales. Rugged coast lines, hills, mountains, fresh air and plenty of space to blow the cobwebs away. Also discovering the most delightful studio to begin to build Irene & Edith.
However in early 2019 a desire for a little more of the real world helped me gravitate back to the area where I grew up and find my perfect little home. Back where my 18 year old self could not wait to move away from. My studio is now perfectly formed in my little garage and excited to see where the next adventure takes me and my work.
